This policy explains what information is processed when you visit Thirty Gram Kitchen, why, and the choices you have. Thirty Gram Kitchen is operated by Juan José Monsalve Pérez ("we", "us"). If you have a question about anything here, write to hello@thirtygramkitchen.com.
The short version
We don't have accounts, a newsletter, comments, forms or analytics tools, and the site itself does not set cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic request data to deliver and protect the site. The recipe card remembers a few settings in your own browser. We use, or will use, Google AdSense to show ads; ads are not live yet, and when they are, Google and its partners may use cookies as described below.
Information processed when you visit
The site is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Workers, and Cloudflare also acts as our content delivery network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data every time your browser loads a page: your IP address, your browser's user agent, the URL requested and similar technical details. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse and attacks. We do not use this data to identify you, build a profile of you or track you across other sites.
Our fonts and images are served from our own site, so loading a page does not send requests to Google Fonts or other font or image services.
Information you send us
The only way to contact us is by email. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it only to read and answer your message and to handle any request you make, such as a privacy request.
What the recipe card saves in your browser
On recipe pages, the recipe card remembers the number of servings you chose, whether you prefer US or metric units and which ingredients you have checked off. It saves these settings in your browser's local storage under a key that starts with tgk:recipe: followed by the recipe's name, so the card looks the same the next time you open that recipe.
This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not a cookie. The protein calculator does its math in your browser and does not save or send anything you type. You can delete the saved recipe settings at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Advertising
We use, or will use, Google AdSense to show ads on this site. Ads are not live yet. When ads are shown, the following applies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Google and its partners may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and cookie or similar identifiers when an ad is requested or shown.
Google explains how it handles this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not receive information that identifies you personally from Google's advertising services.
Your advertising choices
You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. If you are in the European Economic Area, you can also use www.youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove ads; it means the ads you see will be less tailored to your interests. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
When ads go live, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before advertising cookies are used for purposes that require consent, such as personalized ads. You will be able to change or withdraw your choice at any time through the same tool.
Your US state privacy rights
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some US state laws, including California's CCPA as amended by the CPRA and similar laws in other states, treat the use of advertising cookies for targeted advertising as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. When ads go live, Google's privacy messaging will give visitors in those states a way to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for targeted advertising. Where the law requires it, we will also honor browser opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you and how we use and disclose it.
- Delete personal information we have about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we have about you.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
In practice, the only personal information we hold ourselves is the content of emails you send us. To make a request, email hello@thirtygramkitchen.com. We may ask for information needed to confirm the request is yours, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we decline a request, you can reply to appeal, and we will explain the result.
Your rights in the EEA and the UK
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR or UK GDPR gives you rights over your personal data. We rely on our legitimate interests to deliver and secure the site and to answer emails you send us, and on your consent for advertising cookies where consent is required. You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before. To use these rights, email hello@thirtygramkitchen.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
How long information is kept
We keep emails only as long as we need them to answer your message and handle any follow-up, and then delete them, unless we have to keep them to meet a legal obligation. We do not keep our own logs of site visits. Cloudflare and, when ads are live, Google keep the data they process for the periods described in their own policies. Recipe card settings stay in your browser until you clear them.
International transfers
Thirty Gram Kitchen is operated from Colombia, and our service providers, including Cloudflare and Google, process data in the United States and other countries. This means your information may be processed outside the country where you live, where data protection laws may differ. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS through Cloudflare, and we keep the information we hold to a minimum. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we have.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, for example when ads go live or if we add a new tool. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site.
